The Shanti is an audiophile linear power supply from Allo with two outputs (5.2V/3A and 5.2V/1.2A). It is particularly popular with sound enthusiasts to supply the Raspberry Pi with high-quality sound card.
The Shanti is designed so that Pi and high-quality sound card can be supplied separately with clean power to achieve the optimal sound experience.
The power supply provides extremely low noise, electromagnetic interference and balance frequency interference with an R-Core transformer.
For this purpose, Allo has provided independent filtering for each output.
First, a capacitor to reduce the 50/60Hz noise, then an active filter, followed by a LDO (low-dropout regulator) to keep the voltage stable. Since LDOs have poor transients and impedances, Allo has installed another active filter (with good transients) and capacitors over 15,000uF, but especially super capacitors at the output. The final performance comes from the Super Caps.
The Allo Shanti has a mesh filter. The AC side is earthed on the housing. In internal tests (in a realistic environment), the manufacturer has approx. 80 nV (0.08 uV noise from 0 to 20 kHz) measured - comparable to the mains noise of batteries.
