Most manufacturers use a standard rotary inverter compressor but Daikin (http://www.comfortconnections.com/) improved the technology with its exclusive swing inverter compressor. This change makes a huge difference in how quite and efficient the system operates. Most inverter compressors use a spring and a seal to create the compression cycle. Daikin has welded components together to eliminate the spring and the seal. Small change, big impact.
This is the General Rotary with its head removed, showing the "Ring", mounted on an eccentric lobe of the crank shaft. I'm not sure what the spring loaded sliding "Seal" is called, maybe somebody can enlighten me?
This is a Danfoss TL4A 240V domestic refrigeration compressor that I have cut open with a grinder to show its workings. The Mitsubishi, AC Delco and Danfoss Performer compressors mentioned in the video were dropped off as scrap, completely inoperable., the Mitsi had burned windings, AC compressor was just too old, and the Performer, well, the oil inside was a thick metallic Grey sludge with metal particles, a product of its self destruction. possibly from low lubricant or blocked oil ventury in the spindle. Under normal operation, the low temp, low pressure gas from the evaporator coils is drawn into the unit via one of the suction tubes on the housing and is compressed into a high temp, high pressure form before being discharged through the thin silver tube, and into the condensing coils where the heat is removed and it becomes a liquid again. :WARNING: always treat mains power with great care!, if you are not competent with electrical work, do not attempt to reproduce what I have done in my video's!, I accept no liability for electrocution's resulting from ppl copying my work.
